This is an outline of the events that take place in the area of our walks :

01.05.2016 : Greek Easter. In the villages of Crete, the people build a wooden model of Judas on Easter Saturday afternoon. When the clock strikes 12:00 midnight, the priest reads the relevant chapter from the bible and the locals light a fire, to “burn Judas”. People greet each other with Christos Anesti! (Christ is risen !) and Alithos Anesti.

06.05.2016 : Festival of Agios Dikaios. Celebration with live local music and traditional food in the center of the village Elos.
